Here lately, I have been hearing my clients speak more and more about not wanting to take pictures right now because of this or that. We can always come up with an excuse if we think long enough. “I’m too big.” “I need to drop ten more pounds.” “I don’t have anything to wear…” and the list goes on. 

In the world that we live in, there will always be these magical guidelines that most of the world will never fit into. For example, I have been a plus size woman for the majority of my life. Being on steroids after my bus accident help me one bit. After embracing this fact, I learned I had to rock what God gave me. 

One type of session that I simply love to do is Glamour Sessions. They typically start off slow, being a little camera shy and pointing out the flaws that make them unique. After listening to my clients and watching them warm up to the camera, I learn a lot about them. I know what they will like and not like, their good side, they favorite poses, the features that they love about themselves. At this time, I can take the session to the next level. Some of the best photos come from he end of the session when they are totally comfortable. 

That’s when I just want to bust a move in excitement. 

You must trust your photographer. We often don’t think about the fact that they have the power to make you look really good or really bad. Review their work before you hire them for your session. Ask questions and always make sure you tell them your expectations. Photographers cannot meet your expectations, if they don’t know them. 

Recently, I did a photoshoot that was so far out of my comfort zone, but the end product I loved. Trust your photographer, love yourself, wear the right size clothing, and you will end up with a photograph that you love.
