If you've been following my journey, you know this summer has been different.

I called it my Summer of Try because, honestly, I didn't have all the answers. I didn't have a perfect marketing plan or a guaranteed outcome. I simply decided that I wasn't going to let fear or uncertainty keep me from moving forward.

As a photographer, summer has always been my slowest season. This year, I challenged myself to book 60 sessions. It felt like a huge goal, especially knowing that in past summers I might only photograph around 10 sessions.

Today, I'm celebrating a milestone that means so much more than a number.

We're 30 sessions in.

This milestone reminded me that sometimes confidence doesn't come before the first step—it comes after you've been willing to take it.

This season has stretched me to trust God in a deeper way, market my business more intentionally, and let go of trying to control every outcome. I've learned that I don't have to know exactly how everything will work. My job is to be faithful, show up, and do the work that's in front of me.

As I move into the next phase of the summer, I'm focusing on professional headshots and passport photos, while continuing to serve the families and clients who trust me to capture their milestones.

One lesson that has been especially meaningful is realizing there's room for all of us. Every photographer brings something unique to the table, and instead of competing, I'd rather celebrate others and confidently walk in the lane God has given me.

You don't have to have the entire plan before you begin.

Sometimes all you have to do is try.
