Do You Want To Know A Secret?

My Story

August 29, 2014  •  1 Comment

My life is an open book for many reasons. I learned at a very young age that I was unique. Back then, unique wasn’t portrayed the way it is now. Along with being unique, I went through the journey of being different physically. Here is one of the stories from my open book.

Almost seventeen year ago, my world changed. I begged Daddy to let me ride the bus home from school because I didn't want to stay for basketball practice. He told me no, but I kept asking, and he finally said yes. Who knew that less than ten minutes later, my bus would wreck. The AMAZING Herndon Magnet School family showed up and supported me. I will never forget the love that I was shown. That same morning, Dad told me to get my glasses and I forgot. I knew he was going to fuss at me, but thank God I didn't have them on that day. With the cuts on my face already close to my eye, I don't want to think about what could have happened if I had my glasses on. Surgery after surgery, I wanted mom to cover the bathroom mirrors so that I didn't have to see myself. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror but the looks that I would get from adult when I went out made it even worst.

But fast forward to now, I have an amazing story to tell. I know that God is able to do what He says He will do.

I felt that it was important to tell my story, because I have met so many new people through photography. Most people won’t ask me what happen but they want to know. My scars are apart of me. Some days, I hate them, but most day, I love them.  The dirty looks are tough to swallow at times, but I have learned to smile through the stares. I had a huge fear starting my business and working with kids, but that hasn’t been an issue yet. My scars are a daily reminder that I made it.

My Friday has been made! Im sitting at the computer in the studio, and all I see are little hands and a face pressed on the glass of the door! I open the door and my little Sarah runs up and gives me the biggest hug ever and gummy bears. (My favorite plus I had to bribe her with yummy bears last time LOL!) A three year old with so much personality, I can't wait to watch her grow up! These are the moments that mean the world to me.

Happy Friday!!!

XOXO

"Would you like to build a snowman?" This cute little movie has inspired our next mini sessions.

On September 13 from 10 am to 2 pm and September 14 from 2pm to 5pm, we will be offering Frozen mini sessions in our frozen inspired winter wonderland studio. We have one Ana costume and one Elsa costume both size 4-6x, fits ages 2-6. We have a Frozen inspired tutu as well. You are more than welcome to bring your own costume or Frozen outfit. We will have kid friendly glitter makeup to add some sparkle to this fun session, if mom approves.

Our sessions are only $60 for a 20 minute session with 10 digital downloads, or $90 for a 20 minute session with 30 digital downloads, 12x8 Canvas Print, and 4 8x10s & 4 5x7s or a mini 4x6 Photo Book.

We ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes before your session to prep and/or get dressed. You are more than welcome to bring a friend or have a sibling session. We would like to see little Kristoff, but we have yet to find a costume that would arrive in time for our sessions.

We require a $40 deposit to lock in your mini session.
